Jura and Savoie Wine Map

The Jura and Savoie wine regions, positioned among the Jura foothills and Alpine terroir bordering Switzerland, are perhaps the most distinctive in all of France. Jura is home to the oxidized Vin Jaune and sweet Vin de Paille wines, as well as the fortified Macvin du Jura and local brandy Marc du Jura. Savoie and the adjacent Bugey region are nestled amidst spectacular Alpine terroir and produce a variety of quality sparkling and red, white, and rosé still wines.

A wall map of the Jura and Savoie wine regions in France. The map depicts the delimited wine appellations/Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in the Jura, Savoie, and even adjacent Bugey region. The map includes the principal black and white grape varieties for each region, and the authorized wine type for every AOC. An inset depicts Savoie’s smaller complementary geographical denominations south of Chambéry.

All base map information is originally digitized from satellite imagery. Map includes digital shaded relief. All wine-related content is derived from official national sources and regional wine associations.
