Cognac Wall Map

To know and love the wine spirit (eau-de-vie) brandy is to know and love Cognac! Just north of Bordeaux and centered on the town of Cognac is the appellation of origin bearing its name. Starting as white wine, its grapes are the product of a distinctive terroir that sustains the six “cru” cultivation areas of Cognac.

A wall map of the Cognac region in France. The map depicts the Cognac delimited appellation of origin and the cultivation areas for all six Cognac “crus”. The map includes the principal white grape varieties used to make the base white wine, and the definitions of the common ageing categories for Cognac.

All base map information is originally digitized from satellite imagery. Map includes digital shaded relief. All Cognac-related content is derived from official national sources and regional trade associations.
